Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle juice
  • 2 tablespoons relish dill or sweet
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • Shredded lettuce
  • French fries or sweet potato fries optional
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Tomatoes
  • Pickles
  • Red onion slices
  • Avocado slices

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Whisk
  • small bowl
  • Knife

Method

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and spices (salt, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper), cooking until the meat is fully browned and crumbled, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess grease, if necessary.
  2. Make the special sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, dill pickle juice, relish, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. To assemble the burger bowls, start with a base of lettuce, then add the cooked beef and your desired toppings (cheese, tomatoes, pickles, onions, avocado).
  4. Finish with a generous drizzle of the special sauce and enjoy!

Notes

Store components separately to prevent sogginess. Sauce improves if made ahead.
